Center Stage is currently casting “Forever Plaid,” a 1950′s style musical

Auditions: Tuesday, June 18, 2013 7:30pm – 11:00pm (By Appointment Only) at Center Stage Theater in Fontana, CA

Rehearsals: Starting June24th at Center Stage Theater in Fontana, CA

Show Dates: Weekends July 19th – 28th

This deliciously goofy revue centers on four young male singers killed in a car crash on the way to their first big concert, and now revived for the posthumous chance to fulfill their dreams and perform the show that never was. Singing in the closet of harmony and executing their charmingly outlandish choreography with over-zealous precision, the “Plaids” are a guaranteed smash, with beloved songs and delightful patter that will keep you rolling in the aisles when you’re not humming along to some of the great nostalgic pop hits of the 1950′s.

Audition Instructions: Prepare: two (2) songs in 1950′s time period – 16 bars each. Accompanist provided. Be prepared to dance and read (sides handed out at audition) Call for appointment: (909) 429-7469 x0 or emailinfo@centerstagefontana.com. There is pay.

SUMMARY OF ROLES

Frankie (Lead)
Seeking Male, 18-45, All Ethnicities – the leader, confident but humble, always taking care of the rest of the group, has asthma, which occasionally acts ups if the tempo is too fast of if the choreography is too intense, “the romantic crooner,” second tenor-lyric baritone.

Sparky (Lead)
Seeking Male, 18-45, All Ethnicities – the clown, always looking to crack a joke, wears a retainer and has a slight lisp or speech impediment, loves telling stories, repeats himself often, baritone.

Jinx (Lead)
Seeking Male, 18-45, All Ethnicities – shy, terrified of being onstage, forgets what song or dance move is next, tenor.

Smudge (Lead)
Seeking Male, 18-45, All Ethnicities – worries about everything, suffers from a chronic nervous stomach, very reluctant to perform, dyslexic, wears glasses, underneath the glasses is a great deal of good looks and sex appeal, bass.
